Knife Spa Treatment

Dealing with hmc has been a pleasure. One of my transients needed adjusting and Jim took care of it promptly. A great experience overall.

I have bought 2, 3.2 transient knives, Jim always goes above and beyond to make sure you’re happy! Even to the extent of modifying a knife he’s made to turn it into exactly what I was looking for! He’s just top notch, can’t say enough good about him.

Not only is the Transient the best knife ever made, Jim Vandeveld is the best (and coolest) maker in the business. As someone who tends to be unkind to my knives, I value a good warranty sloghtly more than the average person, and there is no better warranty than HMC’s warranty. After losing my fixed blade on a hunt this last season and killing a deer on that same hunt, I was left with my Transient for cleaning my deer. After using it to punch through the sternum and pelvic bones, it developed a bit of lock rock. I reached out to Jim and explained what had happened and he happily fixed it and gave it a full spa for the low price of absolutely nothing. If you’re on the fence about getting one, just do it and thank me later.

The transient is an amazing knife. I have a 3.2 and it is super light, carries well, perfect size, and is just a quintessential knife. Cuts so well. So useful and functional that there really is very little to say about any negative aspects other than it is very difficult trying to get another one.

Jim builds a hell of a knife. It has easily become one of my top 3 favorite knives of all time. I love the fact that you can send in your knife to get it modified to your liking. And his Customer Service is so damn fantastic that other knife makers need to take note. 10 stars.

Jim sets the bar for what customer service in the knife industry should be. He takes care of his customers and supports his products – to the highest level. I love my Transient 3.2 Subliner, it’s flawlessly made, and a joy to carry and use. I’m excited for my next chance to buy another one of his knives.
